Redmi could be preparing a big change for its flagship smartphone lineup. The smartphone manufacturer is currently preparing to launch its K100 series smartphones in China, which includes Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max models.
While the user base is currently excited about the models, speculations regarding the successors of the K100 series have been in the air, with a discussion going on that K110 will be replaced by K200. Redmi product manager Mia Xinxin recently revealed in a Weibo post, “Good question, K110 feels a bit strange,” which once again fueled the conversation.
The Redmi K100 Pro series is about to launch in China on August 11, and the lineup will include two models. The Pro model will have an 8,580mAh silicon-carbon battery, along with 100W wired fast charging. The triple camera unit of the model will contain a 200-megapixel primary camera and features a 6.59-inch OLED screen.
Similarly, Redmi K100 Pro Max is confirmed to run on an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset along with a 9,070mAh battery. The lineup was designed for users who want top-end performance without spending as much as they would on premium flagship devices.

Smartphone brands often change product names to mark a new phase. A fresh name also makes a new generation easier to identify and helps build excitement before launch. If Redmi officially introduces the K200 series, it will be one of the biggest branding changes the K-series has seen in years. Until then, fans will have to wait for Xiaomi to share more information.
