Sony has shared its first major PlayStation post since reports about its changing approach to physical game discs. The company introduced its new PlayStation fight stick, a controller designed for fighting games. However, the new hardware quickly became a secondary topic. Many fans used the comment section to express their anger about the future of physical games instead of discussing the controller itself.

The fight stick is aimed at players who enjoy competitive fighting games and want a dedicated controller. Under normal circumstances, the announcement would have focused on its design and features. This time, the scenario is completely different. Most replies had little to do with the product. Players asked Sony to continue supporting physical discs and warned against moving fully toward digital game sales.

The reaction reflects a bigger concern that has been growing for years. Many players believe a physical disc gives them real ownership of a game. A digital purchase is different. It mostly depends on online services, access to stores, and licensing agreements. If a digital storefront closes or a game is removed, access may become limited. This possibility has made many gamers uneasy.

The discussion is also tied to game preservation. Older games have already disappeared from some online stores, making them difficult to buy years later. Collectors and long-time players worry that more digital-only releases could make preserving gaming history even harder.

Sony has not yet responded to the latest criticism, nor has it announced any new policy regarding physical media. Even so, the response to one simple product post shows that the discussion is no longer about a single controller. For many fans, it is about the future of game ownership and whether buying a game will still mean owning it.
