NBA 2K27 has joined Xbox Play Anywhere as its PC version arrives on the Microsoft Store this week. The move lets eligible digital buyers access the basketball game on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC without purchasing it twice. The feature expands platform flexibility for existing players while bringing NBA 2K27 to Microsoft’s PC gaming storefront.
Players who own the qualifying Xbox digital edition can claim the PC version through the Microsoft Store. Buyers who purchase the supported PC edition also receive access on compatible Xbox consoles. The game’s official announcement confirms the change, giving existing owners another way to play without paying for a second copy.
Xbox Play Anywhere connects supported digital games across Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. Players can use the same Microsoft account to access compatible versions across supported devices. However, cross-buy does not automatically guarantee that every game mode, save file or progression feature works identically across platforms.
NBA 2K27 launched on September 4, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and other platforms. Its arrival on the Xbox PC storefront brings the title into Microsoft’s cross-buy program. The game’s standard edition costs USD 69.99 in the United States, while higher-priced editions offer additional content.
The Xbox Play Anywhere benefit applies to qualifying digital purchases, rather than every version sold through other stores. Players should check the Microsoft Store listing and confirm the Play Anywhere badge before buying. PC access through another storefront may not qualify for the same entitlement.
Game Pass cloud gaming access also differs from owning the game outright. A subscription may support cloud play under eligible plans, but it does not automatically grant permanent ownership. Players should check regional availability and local pricing before making a purchase.
The change gives eligible owners access to NBA 2K27 on both Xbox consoles and PC through a single purchase.
