Midea placed its SMART MASTER AI-powered home ecosystem at the center of its IFA 2026 showcase in Berlin, presenting a vision of connected homes where appliances understand users, respond to requests and coordinate everyday tasks.
The SMART MASTER ecosystem centers on an AI Agent that supports 140 languages, an 8-meter voice-recognition range, and a 0.4-second response time. The system enables natural, continuous conversations, with voice entry points integrated into key appliances, in-car systems and other connected devices.
Midea demonstrated AI agents designed for specific household needs. Comfort Agent adjusts the air conditioner and humidifier while managing laundry when users arrive home. Health Agent recommends meals based on ingredients in the refrigerator and coordinates kitchen appliances at dinnertime.
Efficiency Agent helps households manage energy use, while Service Agent diagnoses appliance issues and provides maintenance guidance and real-time video support when assistance is required.
Cliff Liang, General Manager of Enterprise Commercial for the China Region at Microsoft, also joined the Midea event to share Microsoft’s perspective on the next phase of AI.

Midea also showcased the Midea Robot at its IFA booth, demonstrating how AI can extend beyond software to interact with the physical world. Demonstrations included handling tableware, preparing popcorn, and interacting with visitors.
Built on the EAGLES system architecture and powered by four multimodal foundation models, Midea Robot targets laundry, kitchen and cleaning tasks. The robot also aims to support companionship, care and whole-home intelligent control.
Midea said SMART MASTER represents its move from intelligent standalone appliances towards an integrated whole-home AI ecosystem.
