Warhorse Studios has released a massive update for its award-winning RPG, Kingdom Cat: was incorrect so changed to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The update, launched on May 15, 2025, includes the game's first paid story DLC, "Brushes with Death," along with a substantial free content patch. This significant addition shows the developers' commitment to enhancing the rich medieval experience, sure to delight the game's loyal fan community.
The headline feature is, of course, the "Brushes with Death" DLC. This highly awaited expansion asks players to take on a whole new questline revolving around a mysterious and offbeat painter called Voyta. As Henry of Skalitz, players will be caught up in the artist's mysterious past, taking on a series of tasks to help him with his work.
In reward for all their labor, players are rewarded with the addition of a special new feature: Shield Painting. Players can fully customize shields with over 100 different patterns and colors to suit their taste.
Additionally, new designs can be unlocked by completing specific quests within the DLC. The "Brushes with Death" DLC is on offer as a separate purchase or included within the Expansion Pass of the game.
In addition to the paid DLC, Warhorse Studios has released a massive free update full of new content and enhancements. One of the most anticipated additions is the popularly demanded horse racing feature. The riders can now travel to the Nomads' camp in the region of Trosky to try their horse-riding skills in exhilarating cross-country races and mounted archery competitions.

This new play comes with the usual complement of quests, too, such as ‘Horses for Courses,’ ‘Racing Horseshoes,’ and ‘The Executioner's Edge,’ ensuring hours of quality gameplay outside of the main mission. Additionally, trophies have also been introduced that mark players' victories in mounted competitions.
Included as well, Patch 1.3 brings with it an enormous complement of tweaks and revisions to a diverse number of details throughout the game. Warhorse Studios has concentrated on improving quest stability and performance, combat mechanics, and general game optimization across all platforms, such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Although the complete patch notes are lengthy, major areas of development include improved animation, better NPC behavior, and numerous bug fixes to produce a more seamless, immersive world.
Interestingly, this patch also includes advancements on the modder's front, especially concerning inventory presets and localization support. The limitations on multiple mods making changes to the inventory preset have been lifted so that equipment and loadout mods are compatible with one another. Fixes for localization mods also ensure that they are loaded properly, avoiding possible in-game faults.
Although "Brushes with Death" represents the first significant story DLC, Warhorse Studios has already set out plans for two further expansions due to be released later in 2025: "Legacy of the Forge" and "Mysteria Ecclesia."
