Apple's foldable iPhone Duo starts at Rs. 2,99,900 in India for the 256GB model. The 512GB version costs Rs. 3,24,900, while the 1TB and 2TB models cost Rs. 3,74,900 and Rs. 4,49,900, respectively. Initially, when the models launched, it seemed these were the only expenses for the buyers, but hardly anyone considered the cost of repairs. According to recent reports, the replacement of the inner screen costs Rs. 1,49,900, which is almost half the price of the base model.
Other repairs are cheaper, but they can still be expensive. Therefore, it is recommended to go for AppleCare+ service, which significantly reduces the price, though it's still expensive. With an active plan, battery service costs Rs. 0. If the cover layer is damaged, it will cost Rs. 1,900 to be repaired. Similarly, back glass damage and outer display damage each cost Rs. 2,500.
These aren’t cheap but are better than a plan without AppleCare+. For example, an inner display repair costs Rs. 8,900 under the plan, compared with Rs. 1,49,900 without it. Additionally, other accidental damage carries a fee of Rs. 8,900, while the listed theft or loss fee is Rs. 15,900.
Apart from all these, if the phone’s inner display is damaged, even with an AppleCare+ plan, users have to spend Rs. 8,900, in comparison with Rs. 1.5 lakh.

AppleCare+ for the iPhone Duo is reported to cost Rs. 51,900 upfront or Rs. 4,709 per month. This subscription service covers eligible accidents like damage from drops or spills and offers priority support. However, buyers still need to pay service fees for some repairs. Theft and loss are not covered under the terms described. Check the latest plan details, coverage period, and exclusions before signing up.
The iPhone Duo's inner screen is its biggest repair expense. AppleCare+ could bring that bill down, but the plan itself is costly. Buyers should compare its price with the repairs they may need before deciding whether it is worth it.
