More than 2,500 experts belonging to the field of AI from across the world including heads of industry, and policymakers will come together at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre today and tomorrow (September 5-6, 2024) on the occasion of Global AI Summit 2024.
The theme of the two-day Global AI Summit, "Making AI Work for Everyone," deliberates upon different aspects of leveraging the transformative power of AI across all sectors as well as sheds light on AI ethics and consideration.
Some of the headliner speakers attending this star-studded event are Sal Khan of Khan Academy, Daniela Combe from IBM, and Peter Diamandis of the XPRIZE Foundation, who will give insights into AI’s future trends.
The high point of the summit is an announcement on an 'AI City' in Hyderabad, a 200-acre project that promises to position the city as a global hub for artificial intelligence research and innovation. A guide called "Telangana's AI Compendium" will also be launched at the event.
This initiative by the Telangana government is inspired by the Uttar Pradesh government and was declared this June 2024. The AI City initiative is part of Telangana’s broader strategy to harness the potential of emerging technologies to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for its citizens. It also involves a strategic goal to double the IT/ITeS sector to US$60 billion by 2028 and an aspiration of US$100 billion by 2035-a deliberation in tune with that at the summit. The extended vision of the state is to leverage AI and emerging technologies toward economic development.
