Rockstar Games is taking a few ideas from Red Dead Redemption 2 for GTA 6. While interactive NPCs and a wide range of wildlife interactions already showed the influence of RDR2 on GTA 6, once again it got confirmed with the biggest feature of the game: Focus.
Recently, during an interview with IGN, Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson demonstrated a part of the game where he used Focus to spot enemies, find targets, and plan the next move during fights. According to him, “This is something called ‘Focus’, which is very similar to ‘Eagle Eye’ in Red Dead Redemption 2.”
The benefit of this feature goes beyond combat. Players can use this ability to spot police officers and other enemies at a certain range. This could make exploring Vice City more interesting. Focus will come with a meter, which ensures that players don’t misuse or overuse this feature. They will need to keep an eye on it and save the ability for the right moment.
The feature is similar to Dead Eye in Red Dead Redemption 2, where players can slow down action and take better shots. However, Rockstar has not shared all the details yet. Still, its addition hints at a more detailed gameplay experience in GTA 6.

GTA 5 focused more on fast action and fun gameplay. Players could jump into fights, drive at high speed, and enjoy quick action. Red Dead Redemption 2 took a slower approach. It featured detailed character movements, realistic actions, and more careful gunfights.
GTA 6 seems to be bringing these two styles together. It will still have the action that fans love, but it could also offer more realistic gameplay. Rockstar may be looking to give players the best of both games. If these features work well, Vice City could feel more alive than ever.
