Once again, it’s update time for Google Pixel users. This February, Google is rolling out an update for several of its Pixel devices to fix some typically annoying issues. Using smartphones without any single bug or security problem is hardly possible. Often these problems make mobile devices troublesome. To resolve some of this, Google has brought a new update for its several devices. All those iPhone users out there might be feeling a bit jealous, right?
The latest update with the build number AP4A.250205.002 has already been out, and it is addressing issues in a wide range of Pixel models, ranging from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 9 Pro and even Pixel tablets. Generally, users expect new features from updates, but this update doesn’t bring any attractive features, it has brought bug fixes related to Bluetooth, Android Auto, and a critical security patch.
This current update has brought several audio output issues that users have been reporting. These weren’t general problems that all have been facing, but it’s only those issues that users have been facing under certain conditions.
The next addressed bug was the Bluetooth connectivity bug. This update has fixed the unstable Bluetooth connection issues across these devices. There were even security issues that this latest update has fixed.
Well, smartphones often get attacked by hackers, and some of the Pixel devices have security vulnerabilities. Among those, CVE-2024-53104 was the most troublesome, as it used to allow the hackers to take control of the entire device and access any data stored in it. Fortunately, the latest patch has addressed this.
The update that Google has rolled out has been working on all the devices running on Android 15. This is already running, but, based on the region or country, it may take some time to reach users. The devices that are eligible for this update are listed below:
Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a
Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a
Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a
Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold
Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet.
If the device is eligible for this update, the following steps need to be taken to install it:
Open Phone Settings
Next, click on Systems.
Finally, if the update is available, click on System Update.
One must follow the instructed steps to begin the update, and unless this update is complete, don’t try to switch off the device. Notably, this is the last update before Google brings the Android 15 QPR2 update next month. This upcoming update will probably bring some exciting features, like a few changes to the Clock and Battery widgets. A few more will also be added.
