Google has increased the price of the Pixel 10a in India by Rs. 6,000, making the company's affordable Pixel smartphone considerably more expensive just months after its launch. The handset now costs Rs. 55,999 on the Google Store. The price hike is not limited to India, and includes the US and other markets as well.

Pixel 10a was launched in India earlier this year at Rs. 49,999 as the entry point to Google's Pixel lineup. The revision comes without any hardware upgrade. The model continues to feature the same Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB storage configuration. The timing of the hike is notable, as smartphone makers face rising memory and storage component costs amid strong demand from AI data centres.

US Price Also Rises by USD 100

The price increase extends to the US market, where the Pixel 10a now starts at USD 599, up from USD 499. The 256GB version has also jumped to USD 699. The new prices are already reflected across Google's online store and major retailers.

Google has not publicly explained the reason for the global increase. However, rising memory prices are emerging as a major challenge for smartphone manufacturers, with growing demand for memory components from AI infrastructure adding pressure to supply and costs.

Cashback Offers Provide Some Relief

Google is offering limited relief to Indian buyers through bank promotions. Customers using eligible HDFC Bank or ICICI Bank credit cards for EMI transactions can receive cashback of up to Rs. 3,000, potentially bringing the effective price down to Rs. 52,999. The offer remains subject to the applicable bank and transaction conditions.

The price hike also comes as other smartphone brands revise prices amid higher component costs. Samsung and Apple have made recent price increases on selected models, suggesting that rising hardware costs are becoming a broader issue across the smartphone market.
