Google will host Android Show 2026 on May 12 ahead of its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2026. The event will focus on Android updates, ecosystem changes, and new Gemini-powered features.
The showcase will stream on Google’s official YouTube channel and event page. In India, the event starts at 10:30 PM IST.
Google is expected to use a pre-recorded format for this year’s Android presentation, rather than a live keynote. The company will likely outline upcoming software features and platform updates planned for Android devices.
Google I/O 2026 is scheduled for May 19 and May 20 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in California.
The showcase will present its most important announcement through Android 17. The update will deliver multitasking improvements and display enhancements for large-screen devices, along with new screen recording features, according to leaks and developer previews. Google will extend its Android development work to support foldable devices and tablets while increasing its support for larger display formats.
Google could also share more information about Aluminium OS, a reported project aimed at combining Android and ChromeOS into a unified platform experience.
The company has not officially revealed the software yet, though reports about the project have circulated for months. Updates related to Android XR are also expected. Google may announce new mixed-reality features and ecosystem partnerships during the event.
