Flipkart launches the standalone Minutes app with 10-minute delivery across 250+ categories. With 1,000+ micro-fulfilment centres in 130+ cities, Flipkart is stepping up its quick-commerce fight with Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart.

Flipkart launched the standalone Flipkart Minutes app in India on September 9, targeting quick-commerce rivals. The Android app promises 10-minute deliveries across groceries, electronics, gadgets, and daily essentials.

The launch gives Flipkart Minutes a separate identity as competition intensifies across India's quick-commerce market. Flipkart aims to attract urgent shoppers through faster access, broader categories, offers and discounts.

The Flipkart Minutes app currently appears on the Google Play Store for Android devices. The app listing carries an update dated September 8 and occupies around 20MB.

The service previously operated as a dedicated section inside the main Flipkart shopping application. The standalone app could help Flipkart build stronger visibility around quick purchases.

The app covers fresh fruits, vegetables, groceries, dairy products, breakfast items, snacks and beverages. Home supplies, cleaning products, gifts and festive essentials also form part of its catalogue.

Flipkart Minutes also targets last-minute purchases beyond regular household shopping needs. Customers can find flowers, chocolates, headphones, Bluetooth earphones, smartwatches and LED lights through the platform.

The app description promises ‘everything you need & want in just 10 minutes.’ Flipkart also highlights deals and discounts across its expanding product catalogue.

The standalone launch arrives after rapid expansion of the Flipkart Minutes fulfilment network. Flipkart crossed 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres across more than 130 cities and 8,000 PIN codes.

The service has also expanded beyond basic groceries into more than 250 categories. Flipkart reported fivefold order growth over the previous year as smaller cities gained momentum.

The expanded footprint gives Flipkart a stronger base for challenging established quick-commerce leaders. Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart currently remain major competitors in India's fast-delivery segment.

The competitive fight now extends beyond delivery speed and grocery availability. Electronics and higher-value products could give Flipkart Minutes another route toward larger customer baskets.

Recent industry data also shows Minutes narrowing the order-value gap with Blinkit. Excluding mobile phones, Minutes records a reported net order value of Rs. 500 to Rs. 530.

The standalone app therefore marks more than a branding change for Flipkart Minutes. It signals a sharper push to make quick commerce a major part of Flipkart's growth strategy.

The next phase could depend on store density, delivery reliability, and adoption across smaller Indian cities. Flipkart's expanding network gives Minutes a growing platform for that battle.
