Fairphone 6+ Leak Hints at 12GB RAM, New Chip

Fairphone appears to be preparing a refreshed version of its repair-friendly smartphone. The leaked Fairphone 6+ could bring a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, 12GB RAM and a new Cobalt Blue finish.

Fairphone has not officially announced the phone as of August 12, 2026. An earlier leak pointed to a late-July launch, though that date passed without an announcement.

Performance Upgrade

The Fairphone 6+ is expected to focus on internal upgrades rather than a major redesign. Recent reports suggest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 could replace the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used in the current Fairphone 6.

The newer chip can reach a peak CPU speed of 2.7GHz, compared with 2.5GHz on the older platform. The expected RAM increase is also significant, with the 6+ tipped to offer 12GB instead of the current model’s 8GB.

Long-Term Hardware Appeal

The current Fairphone 6 already offers a 6.31-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display, a 4,415mAh replaceable battery and expandable storage. It also has a 50MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera.

Fairphone has designed the phone around repairability, with replaceable modules and long-term software support. The company says the current model is supported through 2033. That makes the expected processor and RAM upgrade more relevant than a simple specification bump. Extra processing headroom could help the phone stay usable as applications become more demanding.

New Color, Launch Details

The Fairphone 6+ is also expected to arrive in a Cobalt Blue finish. The current Fairphone 6 is available in Cloud White, Forest Green and Horizon Black. There is no confirmed pricing for the new model. The current Fairphone 6 is listed at €599 in Europe, which provides a reference point for the expected 6+ price.

Fairphone has yet to confirm the Fairphone 6+, its specifications or its release date. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 12GB RAM and Cobalt Blue finish should therefore be treated as reported details rather than confirmed specifications.

If the leaks prove accurate, the 6+ looks set to be an incremental upgrade. Its appeal will likely come from combining more performance with the repairability and long software support that define Fairphone’s current strategy.
