Dragon’s Dogma 2 is getting a much-needed performance boost with Patch 3.2. Since the game launched in 2024, players have been constantly complaining about the performance issues on all platforms, whether it’s PC or consoles. These bugs and errors prevented them from enjoying the game fully. Finally, Capcom came up with solutions, with Vernworth seeing one of the biggest gains.
These are the biggest and busiest cities in the game, which got its name for frame rate drops, especially on PC. After the update, high-end PCs can now push past 120 FPS in Vernworth at 1440p with high settings. Steam Deck also gets a boost, with the game reaching 30 FPS or more at 720p when using FSR 3 in Performance mode.
However, performance is not the only focus of Patch 3.2. The developer team has worked on other aspects as well, including combat and gameplay. Players can now equip up to six weapon skills instead of four. This gives players more room to build their attacks. The vocation that will benefit the most is the Warfarer. Additionally, the patch includes several other fixes and gameplay improvements.
Vernworth has been a pain point for many Dragon’s Dogma 2 players. The city has a large number of NPCs and activities, which can put extra pressure on a PC or console. After Patch 3.2, the city seems to look really different from how it was previously. Tests on a PC with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RTX 5070 Ti showed frame rates rising from around 80-90 FPS to more than 120 FPS. The improvements are also noticeable on current consoles.
For players who skipped Dragon’s Dogma 2 because of its performance problems, Patch 3.2 gives them a good reason to take another look. The smoother frame rates fix one of the biggest complaints about the game. The extra weapon skill slots also make combat more flexible. For returning players, this could make the experience feel fresh without changing what made the RPG stand out in the first place.
