Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is making headlines again, this time over its OTT release plans. Reports suggest the film may follow a split streaming strategy, with Netflix handling international release and JioHotstar managing domestic distribution.
The reports surfaced after users claimed they spotted the film listed under Netflix’s upcoming releases in select international regions. According to media sources, the overseas release could happen on May 14. JioHotstar, however, has not announced an India premiere date yet.
The move has surprised many viewers because major Hindi films usually have a global release on a single streaming platform. A region-based OTT split between two platforms remains uncommon, especially for big-budget Bollywood titles.
The streaming buzz grew stronger after online reports claimed the OTT release may feature a longer version of the film. The digital cut is expected to include deleted scenes, extended action sequences, and uncensored dialogues.
Neither the makers nor the streaming platforms have confirmed these claims so far. Still, discussions around an ‘uncut’ version have quickly picked up across social media platforms.
Some fans welcomed the idea of extra footage, while others questioned why overseas audiences might get access before Indian viewers.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 emerged as one of the biggest box office successes of 2026. The film reportedly crossed Rs. 1,790 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
The sequel stars Ranveer Singh alongside Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. The film expanded the spy-action universe introduced in the first installment and gained attention for its large-scale action scenes and international setting.
Trade reports also claimed the film secured one of the biggest OTT rights deals for a Hindi release this year after its strong box office performance.

Netflix and JioHotstar have not released an official statement on the reported streaming arrangement. The makers have also remained silent on rumours surrounding the extended cut.
Despite the lack of confirmation, the OTT speculation has kept the film in conversation weeks after its theatrical release. Fans continue tracking updates closely, especially around the India streaming date and the possibility of additional footage in the digital version.
