Claude AI experienced a major service interruption, which prevented hundreds of users from accessing chat services and logging into their accounts. Users from multiple areas reported errors with the AI chatbot through Downdetector, which showed a significant increase in reports. The outage primarily disrupted login methods and online chat capabilities.
Anthropic, the company behind Claude AI, confirmed the issue shortly after complaints increased online. The company acknowledged that some users were experiencing problems with login and chat features. However, it clarified that its API services were still operational. Engineers began investigating the root cause as users continued to report difficulties.
The disruption became visible when Downdetector recorded a spike in user complaints. Many users reported failed login attempts, session timeouts, and chat pages not loading. Some said they were logged out repeatedly.
Anthropic addressed the situation through its official status page. The company stated that it was aware of the issue affecting login and chat systems. It assured users that the core API infrastructure remained functional. This meant developers using Claude’s backend services were largely unaffected.
The company did not provide an exact timeline for restoration. It stated that teams were actively monitoring and working to resolve the disruption.
Claude AI has experienced service problems multiple times before this current event. The system encountered multiple short outages with periods of high errors during the last three months.
The system experienced two types of incidents:
Short-Term Outages
Partial Service Interruptions
In late February, users experienced temporary login problems, together with increased response time delays. Earlier in the year, there were similar reports of partial outages affecting chat performance. Most of the problems were solved quickly, but the repeated incidents created doubts about system reliability.
The combination of regular service interruptions with essential AI systems for business operations creates a situation where user trust suffers. Anthropic has continued to develop new features for Claude. The company still needs to address its infrastructure stability problems.

Based on previous incidents, such outages are usually resolved within hours. However, the exact recovery time depends on the complexity of the technical fault. If the issue is limited to authentication systems, restoration may happen quickly.
Anthropic has not yet announced a confirmed resolution time. If the company identifies and fixes the root cause soon, services could return to normal within the same day. Users are advised to monitor the official status page for updates.
