Smartphone battery capacities could soon reach a new milestone, with Honor reportedly testing a device featuring a battery of up to 15,000mAh. The development points to a growing focus on longer battery life among Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
The reported battery capacity ranges from 14,000mAh to 15,000mAh. If launched, the phone would have one of the largest batteries seen in a mainstream smartphone. However, the company has not confirmed the device or its launch plans.

Honor already offers a gaming phone with a large battery. Its WIN RT2 comes with a 12,070mAh silicon-carbon battery. The phone is 8.5mm thick and supports 90W fast charging.
Silicon-carbon technology helps manufacturers fit larger batteries into thinner phones. It uses silicon in the battery's carbon anode, allowing it to store more energy than traditional battery designs of similar size.
Samsung has also adopted this technology for its 2026 foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. However, its Galaxy S26 flagship series uses lithium-ion batteries.
