Apple’s official support account on the Chinese platform Weibo posted a brief promo clip of the just-released Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. Although the tweet was promptly deleted, it was active long enough for keen-eyed users to catch, save, and send it far and wide.
The post quickly went viral within hours, with popular tech leaker Ice Universe posting a screen grab of the event on X (formerly Twitter). That post, too, has since been removed, but not before the harm or free advertising was done.
While Apple hasn’t issued an official comment on the blunder, preliminary reports indicate that the post was a case of plain scheduling or account management failure by the tech giant’s Chinese social media team.
Such a high-profile error is uncharacteristic of Apple, renowned for its command-and-control messaging and brand discipline.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is a powerhouse, following up on the company’s dominance in the foldable category. It boasts a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED primary display and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display with 120Hz refresh rates for silky-smooth operation.
The device powers on the Exynos 2500 chip, supporting up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The other highlight is photography, with a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 10MP front camera for selfies and video calling.
The device is fueled by a 4,300 mAh battery, supporting 25W wired charging, fast wireless charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare to charge other devices.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Apple. The tech behemoth is at least a year from releasing its foldable smartphone, which is tipped to be called the iPhone Fold.
According to industry rumors, Apple’s foldable would reportedly carry a 7.8-inch primary screen and a 5.5-inch secondary screen, with a possible release window in late 2026. This shout-out to Samsung highlights Apple’s current lack of participation in the foldable phone space.
Though the post was quickly deleted, the internet never forgets, and in this case, analysts state that Samsung couldn’t have asked for better publicity.
