Anthropic is hiring a Director of Investor Relations as the AI company nears a stock market listing. According to a listing reviewed by the Times of India, the job pays a base salary of $425,000 to $600,000 a year. The role will focus on talking to Wall Street investors about the company's business plans and finances before its expected public debut later this year.

What the Job Involves

The new director will help shape how Anthropic explains its growth story to investors. Duties include building the company's investment narrative, meeting with institutional investors, and acting as a bridge between company leaders and the financial world. The person will also track AI industry trends and explain how big business decisions might affect Anthropic's stock and long-term growth.

The hire will report to Kenneth Dorell, who joined Anthropic in June as Head of Investor Relations. Dorell previously ran investor relations at Meta. The role opened up after Anthropic's earlier investor relations lead left the company earlier this year.

Growth and Pressure Ahead of Listing

Anthropic has grown fast over the past year. Enterprise use of tools like Claude Code has pushed the company's annualized revenue to $47 billion as of May, making it one of OpenAI's top rivals. Still, the company must convince public investors that its high valuation makes sense given the steep cost of training advanced AI models. As a public benefit corporation, Anthropic also has to balance investor returns with its stated goal of building AI safely.

The job listing shows how important investor communication has become for AI firms heading toward public markets. Companies like Anthropic now need to explain not just their technology, but also their governance and long-term strategy to a much wider set of investors as competition in AI keeps growing.
