Amazon has introduced five new devices powered by its Alexa voice assistant, expanding its smart home product range with a redesigned Echo Show 16, an upgraded Echo Dot, and a speaker with a built-in camera. The company has also announced a smart bedside clock and a digital photo frame designed to bring Alexa into more parts of the home.
The launch comes as Amazon works to make its voice assistant more useful through newer artificial intelligence features. It also faces growing competition from Apple and AI companies exploring consumer hardware.
The new Echo Show 16 features a 16-inch display, built-in Fire TV, and a night-vision camera. According to Amazon, it is the first Echo Show model to include night vision, allowing users to check on their homes in low-light conditions.
The screen can serve different purposes, including displaying family schedules, digital photos and smart home controls. The device is available for pre-order in the US, starting at USD 499.99.
By combining entertainment, home monitoring, and everyday organization in one device, Amazon is positioning the Echo Show 16 as more than a traditional smart display.
Amazon has also introduced an Echo Studio speaker with a built-in camera for USD 249.99. The camera allows Alexa to recognize objects shown to it and respond with relevant information. Users can also check on a room remotely.
The new Echo Dot costs USD 99.99 and includes a built-in smart home hub and Wi-Fi extender for the first time. The additions could make it easier for customers to connect compatible devices and extend wireless coverage without buying separate equipment.
The Echo Time, priced at USD 199.99, is a bedside clock with sleep-sensing technology. It can detect when a user is in a lighter stage of sleep and adjust the wake-up time, eliminating the need for a wearable device.
Amazon has also announced the Alexa Photo Frame, starting at USD 199.99. It automatically syncs pictures from Amazon Photos, giving users a dedicated screen for displaying digital memories.

Apple recently introduced its own smart home products, adding pressure to a market where screens, speakers, and connected services increasingly overlap. For Amazon, the challenge will be turning new hardware features into experiences that customers use regularly. The lineup's success will depend not only on its specifications but also on how well Alexa’s updated capabilities fit into people’s daily routines.
