OnePlus has confirmed BOE-made displays for OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro ahead of their October 29 launch in China. Both gaming-focused smartphones will support a native 165Hz refresh rate across system navigation, scrolling, and compatible interface animations.
The company will also offer an enhanced 185Hz refresh rate in supported games, targeting smoother motion during demanding gameplay. The displays use customized X4 luminescent material, developed jointly by OnePlus and BOE for its fourth-generation Oriental Screen.
A new LTPO circuit enables the higher refresh rate, while OnePlus’ Super Display Chip P4 processes high-frame-rate content. The company also lists 3,840Hz PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland certification among the display features.
The 165Hz refresh rate applies to everyday phone interactions, rather than selected games alone. The 185Hz mode targets compatible games that can support higher frame rates. Actual gaming performance will depend on software support and each game’s rendering capabilities.
OnePlus is also promoting Bright Eyes Protection, developed with MedSight and Vision, to improve eye comfort during extended screen use. Together, these features position the Ace 7 series around fast visuals, motion clarity, and gaming-focused usability.
OnePlus has also showcased refreshed designs and three color options for each model. The Ace 7 will come in Tempered, Midnight Black, and Radiant White, while the Pro version adds Windbreaker alongside black and white finishes. Both phones feature two rear cameras and a new dual-airflow cooling design with an integrated fan system.
The company has not confirmed pricing or availability outside China. Reports also point to large batteries and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series processors, although buyers should wait for final specifications before relying on unconfirmed details.
The October 29 launch should reveal the remaining hardware details and clarify how the two models differ beyond their displays.
