Unlock Today's Quordle: Expert Hints and Letter Patterns for Four Challenging Five-Letter Words

Harpreet Singh Kapula

Four puzzles. One grid. Nine attempts. Welcome to today's Quordle challenge! Unlike traditional word games, Quordle presents players with four separate five-letter words to discover simultaneously. The color-coded clues after each guess: green for perfect matches, yellow for correct letters in wrong positions, and gray for incorrect letters; guide your path to victory.

Game Origins

Quordle represents the natural evolution of word puzzles, conceived by David Mah as an extension of Wordle's singular challenge. Freddie Meyer's programming expertise transformed this idea into the multi-puzzle format players enjoy today. Now part of Merriam-Webster's word game collection, Quordle continues to test vocabulary skills worldwide.

Strategy Tips

These strategy tips are designed to help with predicting words with a diverse range of strategies.

Vowel Strategy

Predicting words with vowels is the best hint in Quordle. They frequently appear in English words in a common pattern, such as CVC, consonant-vowel-consonant. For example, try "STOLE" and "QUEEN" from the previous day's Quordle game. Select "Past Games" from the "Daily Classic" drop-down menu, then select the April 1 game.

Elimination Strategy

Repeating letters is best suited for an elimination strategy. When a letter appears twice, half of the word can be guessed with little difficulty. From the 31 March 2025 game:

  • Letter "E" helps with guessing the first, third and fourth word

  • Letter “R” helps with guessing the first, third and fourth word.

  • Letter “C” helps with guessing the first and the fourth word.

Spoiler Alert

Solutions are up front. But before that, try to guess a word taken from the hint of the game played on 1 April 2025 - When things stand up straight... and you’re impressed!

For those who want just the answers:

  • ASCOT

  • JETTY

  • DRUNK

  • JOLLY

The game becomes more intuitive with practice—many players find their success rate improving significantly after just a week of daily puzzles.
