Pokemon GO’s latest Crown Clash event has brought the long-awaited Kingambit. Since Pokemon GO was released, this game has initiated multiple events to bring new content to the game. These limited-time events not only add new content to the game but also bring new Pokemon to expand the Pokemon collection for players.
The latest Pokémon GO Crown Clash event started on May 10, 2025, and it will run up to May 18, 2025. This is one of the most anticipated timeframes for players. During this time, they will get access to one of the latest additions, Kingambit. Aside from that, it has introduced a variety of exclusive research tasks, collection challenges, and shiny encounters.
The Crown Clash is now live, and it will run until May 18, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time. So, it’s high time to check what this week-long celebration has prepared for players:
First, let’s talk about the bonuses. It has brought double XP for evolving Pokémon. The best part is, this event has significantly increased shiny odds for Crowned Nidoqueen, Crowned Nidoking, Slowpoke, Combee, and Litleo.
Apart from these, during this event, if players catch a Slowpoke, they will receive a King’s Rock, which is an essential item for evolving certain Pokémon.
The next and most exciting part of this event is the addition of new Pokémon:
Kingambit (Dark/Steel-type): This Pokemon can only be available through a unique evolution method from Bisharp.
Crowned Nidoqueen and Crowned Nidoking: These two Pokemon appear in raids with Shiny variants.
There are more Pokemon, Research Tasks, and other things that players shouldn’t miss in the game. This list even includes some of the shiny Pokemon variants: Slowpoke, Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, Litleo, and Pawniard.

Additionally, some Special Field Research tasks offer additional encounters:
If players win a raid, they will get to catch a Sneasel.
If players win two raids, they will unlock encounters with Crowned Nidoking or Nidoqueen.
Once they evolve two Pokémon, there’s a chance to meet Slowpoke, Combee, or Snivy encounters.
If players power up Pokémon five times, it could result in a Sneasel or Klink.
Another highlight of the event is the Collection challenge. This requires trainers to evolve a series of specific Pokemon for rewards. For example, players can catch and evolve Snivy to Serperior and Piplup to Empoleon to complete this challenge. This completion will grant them XP, Stardust, and a guaranteed Pawniard encounter.
If players have been curious to make the most out of this event, planning and strategy are the key. However, the most interesting part is getting Kingambit. So, here’s what players should know about that:
Catch Pawniard from wild spawns. It is available from 1-star raids or 10 km eggs.
Once captured, players need to feed it 50 Pawniard Candy to evolve it into Bisharp.
Next, make Bisharp as Buddy Pokemon.
The fourth step includes fighting and defeating 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokemon in raid battles. Not necessarily; Bisharp has to fight in these battles, but it must be your buddy during these fights.
After that, use 100 Bisharp Candy to evolve into Kingambit.
Pokemon GO events hardly disappoint players. The Crown Clash event won’t do it as well. This week-long celebration has loads of things to offer.
