Players can explore Tokyo, collect over 550 cars and experience new multiplayer activities.
Cross-platform play, cross-save support and graphics modes expand the PlayStation racing experience.
Forza Horizon 6 is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027, bringing the open-world racing game to Sony’s console after its launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Developed by Playground Games, the latest installment takes players to Japan, featuring more than 550 real-world cars, a larger urban environment, and new ways to explore the game’s open world.
Panic Button developed the PS5 version in collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. Pre-orders are now available through the PlayStation Store, with Standard, Deluxe, and Premium editions.
The Standard and Deluxe editions of Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PS5 on January 26, 2027. Players purchasing the Premium Edition will receive early access beginning January 21, five days before the standard release.
The Premium Edition includes the full game, VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack, Italian Passion Car Pack, and the first expansion. A second expansion is also included and will be available later.
The Deluxe Edition includes the full game, Welcome Pack, and Car Pass, while the Standard Edition includes the full game.
Players who pre-order any edition on PS5 will receive a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 in-game. The car will be added to their garage after they start playing and complete the prologue.
The game will also be available on disc at participating retailers.
Japan is the central setting of Forza Horizon 6, offering a mix of urban streets, rural landscapes, industrial districts, and varied environments.
One of the biggest attractions is Tokyo City, which the developers describe as the largest urban area featured in a Forza Horizon game. Players can drive through downtown streets, explore suburbs, and navigate docks and industrial areas.
The game features more than 550 real-world cars, including Japanese domestic market classics. Players can also discover special Forza Edition vehicles with extensive modifications and find rare aftermarket cars to test-drive and purchase.
The campaign begins with players arriving in Japan as tourists. They must prove their driving abilities, qualify for the Horizon Festival through the Horizon Invitational, and progress through increasingly competitive events. New wristbands track their progress toward becoming a Horizon Legend and unlock access to Legend Island.
The game also introduces activities such as Touge Battles, along with updated engine audio and steering animations that offer up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation.
The PS5 version will offer two graphics options: Quality mode at 4K and 30 frames per second, and Performance mode targeting 60 frames per second.
The game’s pre-order trailer was captured on a standard PS5 console in Quality mode. Players can therefore prioritize visual detail or smoother gameplay, depending on their preference.
The developers have also highlighted accessibility features, including customizable High Contrast mode, Car Proximity Radar, American and British Sign Language support, and AutoDrive.
These options are designed to make the racing experience more accessible to a wider range of players.

The game will include multiplayer activities such as Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, Car Meets and Spec Racing Championships. Players can also access established multiplayer modes, including The Eliminator and Hide & Seek.
