Sony has announced a new 27-inch PlayStation monitor built for PS5. It has a high-quality screen and can also charge a DualSense controller directly. The design focuses on comfort and smart features for players who prefer gaming on a desk instead of a TV.
The monitor is equipped with a QHD IPS display for sharp and bright images and supports HDR for better color and contrast. A special feature called Auto HDR Tone Mapping adjusts the picture automatically when connected to a PS5 or PS5 Pro. Games appear rich and natural without any optimization.
Sony identified a prominent target audience that enjoys games in smaller spaces and designed this monitor for easy use on a table or desk. The built-in DualSense charging hook allows players to hang and charge their controllers. It keeps the area clean and the controller always ready to play.
The screen runs very smoothly, with refresh rates of up to 120Hz on PS5 and up to 240Hz on PC or Mac. The monitor also features Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support, which eliminates screen tearing during rapid-fire gameplay. This not only enhances the performance but also offers a high-end gaming experience.
Sony has also added strong connectivity options. The monitor features two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and three USB ports, including both Type-A and Type-C connectors. These can connect to accessories like the PlayStation Link adapter or other gaming devices.
For sound, it has built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also works perfectly with Sony’s new Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, which bring 3D sound and clear voice chat. Players can also mount the monitor using VESA support, giving more setup options.
Sony plans to launch this PlayStation monitor in 2026 in the US and Japan. Prices will be announced closer to the release date.
With this monitor, Sony continues to grow the PlayStation ecosystem. It is another step in bringing quality gaming to spaces beyond the living room. The monitor offers power, style, and coziness all in one place for gamers who desire a full gaming setup in one device.
