Apex Legends is a massive name in the world of battle royale. It’s been six years since this game was launched, but its fanbase hasn’t dropped even a bit. That’s mostly because of the new seasons and updates. The latest Apex Legends season is also live, which has brought significant changes to the game by altering weapons, armor, and other gameplay features.
New seasons bring new content; that’s a general rule, but Season 24 has introduced substantial buffs to various weapons. Its changes were probably aimed at diversifying combat strategies and bringing a suitable balance to the arsenal. Multiple changes must be mentioned, but the most important among them is the buff that the Havoc Rifle has received.
The damage rate of this weapon has been increased to 21 from 18, with headshot damage at 27. While these were enough to make it deadly, the Beam Shot damage has also been buffed to 70, which was 53 before. Even Beam Shot headshot damage has reached 105. This is not the only weapon to receive a buff, though. The Hemlok Burst assault rifle has also gone through substantial changes.
After the change, in Season 24, this AR is standing at a rate of 20 damage per shot (which was 19 previously), with headshot damage at 26. Apart from that, another AR that has gone through similar buffs is The Nemesis Burst. Its damage has increased to 17 from 16, and headshot damage is buffed to 22.
Last but not least, the R-301 Carbine now has an increased damage of 14, with headshot damage at 18. The VK-47 Flatline's damage has also received little buffs and reached 19, and the headshot is now 25. These changes have made these weapons deadlier than ever. Players who stand on the other side of these weapons will have to be prepared with stronger defenses.
Among the significant changes that Season 24 has brought to players, the reorganized armor mechanism is primary. When weapons received such buffs, the armor should be adjusted accordingly to make the survival process fair.
The helmets have gone through a complete revision process, and the developers have removed the low-tier helmets like white, blue, and purple completely from the game. Anyway, it’s not like the system is removed entirely. Instead, a new mythic helmet has been introduced that provides gamers with attractive buffs, and the Gold Helmet has transformed into a Gold Armor Upgrade Helmet, doubling the output of Cells and Syringes to give the players the Improved Minor Healing perk.
The next adjustment that should be mentioned here is the EVO Armor. In Season 24, if one is using the purple armor, the maximum achievable EVO level is Level 3. On the other side, Red Armor can’t be available through level up anymore. However, the most interesting change that happened is that the EVO requirement to reach Level 3 is now no longer 1350. It has increased to 1,700.
This season hasn’t brought any new legends. But this season, the game has buffed the abilities of the existing legends, and Ash has experienced a significant change in her abilities. This season, Ash’s Arc Snare and Phase Breach abilities have been modified to work more effectively.
So, with this upgrade, the Arc Snare is now tethering targets more reliably, whereas the increased range and speed of the Phase Breach have been contributing to detecting better endpoints for precise targeting.
These aren’t everything. Aside from upgrading these abilities, Respawn Entertainment has brought brand new passive abilities for Ash. Predator's Pursuit is what Ash received, and it allows her to perform an omnidirectional short-range dash to deal massive damage to enemies in close-range battles.
Among the few systems that Season 24 has brought to the game, Arsenals is among them. This new system debuted to give players simple but deterministic access to weapons and ammo. Arsenals are in-game weapons and ammo stations that players can find at almost every POI.
Though the locations of these stations are fixed, the offerings vary. In every match, these Arsenals offer random ammo types. Other than ammo, some of these terminals offer upgrades. This process is specifically designed to make customized loadouts.
One worth mentioning buff that this new season has brought is the ranked system buff. Ranked play, or competitive matches, is the most popular system in the game. However, the developer team has ensured the new season brings fairness to this system. Therefore, the accessibility thing has changed.
Previously, reaching a certain level automatically unlocked the Ranked mode, but in this new season, this part has changed and the current process requires players to complete a set of newly introduced challenges to unlock ranked matches. This rule is applicable for party matches as well. It’s not that one player completes the challenges and everyone else will get access because they are the party members. Instead, all members must complete the challenges to qualify for ranked play.
The level is not the key to unlocking the ranked matches, but it is still required. Players need to reach at least level 20 to access the ranked play.
Apex Legends Season 24 has brought multiple comprehensive changes that will hopefully balance the game more properly. These changes aim to make the game more dynamic for gamers to use varied strategies to defeat opponents.
