Apple is rumored to release the 17th generation iPhone in September 2025. This year's lineup is expected to feature a significant change, with four different models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the new iPhone 17 Air.
iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace iPhone 17 Plus and will feature an ultra-slim design, catering to users who prioritize portability and a sleek appearance.
Leaks suggest Apple is releasing two color options for the standard types: Purple and Green. Purple is considered a strong contender for becoming the series' signature shade. The Pro models may be gifted with a brand-new finish called Sky Blue, which enriches Apple's selection of iconic hues for their premium category.
Additionally, Pro models may be further equipped with a hybrid aluminum-glass design and an aluminum frame, rather than titanium, to increase lightness.
Performance upgrades appear to be the primary focus of the Pro versions. It has been reported that a vapor chamber cooling system with a sealed copper plate is used for thermal management.
In addition to this cooled system, featuring an A19 Pro chip in the chipset power, the cooled system will help to smooth multitasking. This reduces thermal throttling and enhances gaming and processing capabilities. This new process serves as an additional upgrade compared to the iPhone 16 series.
The anticipated prices of the iPhone 17 series in India show a price bump. The base iPhone 17 is expected to start at Rs 79,999, whereas the iPhone 17 Air is expected to launch at Rs 89,999.
iPhone 17 Pro could be priced at Rs 1,39,900, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will potentially cross Rs 1,64,900, indicating a slight price hike due to increased components and production costs.
Apple aims to balance design evolution, performance improvements, and premium features with the iPhone 17 series. This entirely new lineup may include fresh finishes and significant hardware updates, setting the stage for a bold advancement as the iPhone approaches its 20th anniversary milestone in 2027.
