Apple first debuted the Dynamic Island with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. But what is the ‘dynamic island’ all about? The ‘dynamic island’ is a pill-shaped cutout that displays alerts and information. However, the MacBook Pro’s Dynamic Island will be “smaller” than the one currently available on Apple’s latest iPhones.
Reportedly, the new MacBook Pros will come in 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes. They can also come with a look “similar” to the current models. Other rumours suggest that Apple will also update its existing Mac’s user interface.
The new update aims to bring a “dynamic” and better performance when it comes to touch and point-and-click features. In addition to this, Mark Gurman said, “For instance, if users touch a button or control, the interface will bring up a new type of menu surrounding their finger that provides more relevant options for touch commands.”
Apple had been planning to make touchscreen Macs. But looking at the current status, it looks like this plan of Apple still remains an ‘idea awaiting execution.’ Also, the launch and detailed features of the upcoming new touchscreen Macs won’t be announced on the March 4, 2026 event. This event is all scheduled for Wednesday and slated to be organised across New York, London, and Shanghai next week. There are rumours that the Cupertino-based tech giant aims to schedule the release of these new Macs for “closer to the end of 2026.”
Looking ahead, we can also expect other announcements between March 2 and March 4. These releases will be coming as part of press releases. We can also expect to see the latest iPhone 17e along with new MacBooks and iPads. Apple is likely to bring a new entry-level iPad. This upcoming new iPad can get the Apple A18 chipset. The new iPad Air models will feature 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. Additionally, both the iPad Air will come with the Apple M4 chip.
Apple also plans to introduce a smaller ‘dynamic island'. This should come for the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone 18. Apple will also debut its long-rumored entry-level MacBook codenamed J700). This MacBook is expected to feature the A18 Pro chip and different color options. The colors could be similar to those shown in an earlier invitation poster. They are:
Yellow
Green
Bue
However, early rumors had suggested silver, pink, and dark grey for the MacBook. Apple is also expected to launch new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models along with upgraded M5 Max and M5 Pro chips.
