Following the huge success of Season 1 of One Piece, Netflix is embarking on a new, exciting journey with its much-awaited second season of its live-action series. The series is inspired by Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga. With production having been concluded and new additions to the cast, fans can look forward to following the Straw Hat Pirates further into the Grand Line.
Season 2 guarantees not only more epic adventures but also the introduction of favorite characters and some of the most popular storylines in One Piece history.
Season 2 will continue where the first season has stopped, with the Straw Hats embarking on the Grand Line. The showrunners have confirmed that Season 2 will adapt a number of the most important story arcs from the manga, including:
Loguetown: The ‘Town of Beginnings and Endings,’ it’s the final stop before the Grand Line and the site of Pirate King Gol D Roger’s execution.
Reverse Mountain & Twin Cape: A dangerous entrance into the Grand Line where natural dangers await the Straw Hats.
Whiskey Peak: A hospitable-looking town that betrays deadly secrets.
Little Garden: A fossil island inhabited by fighting giants Dorry and Brogy.
Drum Island: The emotional journey bringing Tony Tony Chopper, the reindeer doctor, and his relationship with Dr Hiriluk and Dr Kureha.
All of these journeys will not only heighten the adventure but also explore deeper into the emotional existence and drive of the crew, opening up the heart and lore of One Piece in live-action.

Season 2 production wrapped in February of 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa. Although Netflix hasn’t officially announced the specific release date yet, the program is projected to drop later during the year.
A big reveal awaits on May 31, 2025, as part of Netflix’s worldwide Tudum event, and there is anticipation for a trailer release and an official release schedule, perhaps even the first look at Chopper in full live-action.
The creative team under co-showrunner Matt Owens has stressed a dedication to maintaining the heart and humor of Oda’s original manga while employing the live-action platform to enhance emotional and cinematic storytelling.
As the Straw Hats embark into the uncharted waters of the Grand Line, audiences are in for more brutal battles, strengthening friendships, and moral dilemmas that capture the essence of One Piece.
With a carefully assembled cast and a goldmine of source material to draw upon, One Piece Season 2 is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most ambitious fantasy-adventure endeavors to date. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, the ride with the Straw Hat Pirates will be richer, darker, and more emotionally impactful.
As the Grand Line calls, so too does a fresh future for the live-action One Piece saga, one of promise, danger, and pirate dreams.
