Machine Intelligence: An Evolved Version of ML and AI with Better Prioritization

Written By : Smriti Srivastava

As the world heads towards increased efficiency and productivity through disruptive technologies, some of them are revising themselves with enhanced attributes offering better services and effectiveness. Machine Intelligence is one such technology that has risen from the advancement and evolution of ubiquitous technologies – machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Machine Intelligence is advanced computing that exists at the intersection of machine learning and artificial intelligence. It enables a machine to interact with its environment in an intelligent way.

With the emergence of volumes and variety of data machine intelligence technologies have experienced a global resurgence. Such data is utilized in training smart systems and its value provides a competitive edge in business as well.

For the technological and business advancements that are about to arrive soon, machine learning is expected to form the base for such development. According to McKinsey & Company's report, technologies that include machine intelligence are more likely to create more than US$ 50 trillion in economic impact by the year 2025.

Role of Machine Intelligence in Driving Better Business

The technology enables organizations to operate more efficiently and effectively while making the use of the data to predict the future and manage the present.

A machine intelligence system possesses the capability to optimize and automate processes, extract and classify data, detect, analyze and predict trends/patterns and enhance interaction with humans/the environment.

Machine Intelligence in itself is a form of intelligence that comprises the specialties almost equivalent to human intelligence or other animal intelligence. Today's modern machine intelligence is an amalgamation of artificial intelligence, self-learning, extrospection, and introspection.

About Machine Intelligence

Supporting Technologies: Hardware, Data Prep, Data Collection

Core Technologies: Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, NLP Platforms, Predictive API's, Image Recognition, Speech Recognition

Rethinking Humans/HCI/HMI: Augmented Reality, Gestural Computing, Robotics, Emotional Recognition

Enterprise: Sales, Security/Authentication, Fraud Detection, HR/Recruiting, Marketing, Personal Assistant, Intelligence Tools

Industries: Adtech, Agriculture, Education, Finance, Legal, Manufacturing, Medical, Oil and Gas, Media/Content, Consumer Finance, Philanthropies, Automotive, Diagnostics, Retail

Conclusion

To reap the fruitful benefits of the technologies it is important for organizations to recognize the difference in the potential among them. At times they incorporate MI without even availing the matured benefits of it. They rather get involved in making full-fledged use of automation offered by MI.

Interestingly, machine intelligence with the abilities of human intelligence, including learning, problem-solving and prioritization can handle extremely complex problems. By necessity, the technology involves deductive logic through which MI systems can understand their mistakes and stay alert for similar data that could lead to a similar mistake in the future. Through this analysis, they can avoid making similar mistakes over and over again.

Machine Intelligence is often considered as the higher evolution of machine learning along with added prioritization and goals. This evolved version enables it to possess a suite of different machine learning methods available to it. It can also include a battery of automation techniques and go on smartly prioritizing and deploying them in the right sequence.
