Data visualization is the digital version of visual communication. It is the way that enables a non-technical individual to understand not only the data but the very popular technology ‘Big Data’. Pictorial representation of data with an aim to allow more room for understanding is what data visualization is all about. Patterns and links are better to grasp and analyze with a graphical alternative. With visualization tools, graphs and other historical forms of data visualization that were earlier catered by MS PowerPoint or Excel have taken a big leap.

Applications and Importance

Text-based data is not exposed to much of scrutiny as compared to a data that has been well organized and optimized for a particular business via data visualization tools. Speaking of data visualization tools, there is an amazing number of choices for businesses to adopt. It is a part of business intelligence to have data visualization tools inculcated into the umbrella. More and more businesses are taking a dig at it and are only flourishing. Going beyond the traditional and standard forms of visualizing the data these tools have become lingua franca for business intelligence.

Role of Graphics

Graphics play another important role in visualizing data. Informative and statistical both. Accessibility of data is directly proportional to how easy is it to understand it. Graphics used for data visualization ensure this and leaves space for comparison and modulation. Accepting that we are living in the day and age of big data, it is inevitable to not utilize data visualization as one of the performance technique to flourish. Machine learning and data analytics that form a major part of AI also requires one to visualize the output and this is when data visualization tools come handy.

Tableau’s Role

Tableau is one such data visualization technique which doesn’t make it compulsory to be a hardcore programmer but denies it neither. It would be welcoming and easier for a software programmer to catch up Tableau but it doesn’t intend to take a toll on all those who don’t. The market demands it and people are opting to become a Tableau developer.

The atmosphere is data-driven which tells us how important business intelligence as a phenomenon has become. Moreover, the company Tableau itself is providing training on the platform. But the prerequisite for a Tableau developer is to have a sound knowledge of data governance and analytics. Just a background or capability to code is not good enough. After all, the platform is built for data visualization and if you don’t stand well on the lines of exploiting data then maybe the choice you made is not compliant with business standards.

Another crucial quality or rather skill in the must-have list is ETL or Extract, Transform and Load. It is a process to pull out data from the source and place it into the warehouse. Now talking about data pulling SQL comes into the picture. The structured query language is vital to communicate with the database. A basic knowledge of relational database is appreciated.

Being the most popular and in-demand platform for data visualization, Tableau has more than mentioned responsibilities to shoulder. The infamous Tableau has become the pivotal part of the business analysis and process requirements.

Data visualization emphasizes on data presentation. Any sort of analysis, predictive or descriptive, both quite invariably understand the ardent need to visualize data. An increased amount of internet activity or better known as ‘Big Data’ or “Internet of Things’ is looking forward to exploiting and exhausting data visualization tools to its rim. Any effective communication of data enables one to reason it. Simply put, it allows a business to make a well-informed choice and decisions of similar fashion.
