What AI Experts Anticipate ChatGPT’s Future?

More information about AI experts' warnings about the future of ChatGPT can be found here

Despite the excitement surrounding AI technologies like OpenAI's ChatGPT, whose fourth-generation large language model GPT-4 is expected to be released next week, the discussion regarding the technology's potential impact on the current job market appears to be going unnoticed.

The advocates of automation, artificial intelligence, and any other type of technology are continuing to assert that they will not replace the human workforce; rather, they will create more jobs and opportunities. However, the opponents appear to disagree. AI experts predict a future in the ChatGPT.

According to the United Nations, only the position of elevator operator had been replaced by technology out of the 270 jobs listed in the 1950 US Census. However, the fear of being replaced by cutting-edge technologies is also growing as the world becomes increasingly technological.

In its survey of 1,000 US businesses, ResumeBuilder.com found that 49% of businesses currently use ChatGPT and 30% plan to.

It also found that 48% of companies using ChatGPT have replaced employees, and 25% of those companies have saved more than $75,000 since using the AI chatbot.

According to the findings of the survey, which was carried out in February, the majority of businesses are utilizing the AI chatbot for writing code, copywriting, customer support, and other tasks.

Other experts agree that technologies like ChatGPT are having an impact on the job market. Rajeev Malhotra, a researcher, and AI-focused computer scientist are one of them. He stated that he had previously criticized numerous consultants who persuaded the public that AI would create more jobs, "but that is not the actual case."

Malhotra talked about algorithms, which read X-ray images and can better diagnose problems and even find a tumor. Also, machines are better at recognizing faces than people are.

There is no doubt that you are, without a shadow of a doubt, replacing humans. Now, you are also creating jobs, but they are of a different kind-one that requires a very high level of education. So, maybe Bengaluru can grow its economy and create more jobs, but some people might lose out because what they do requires a lot of work," he told News18.

He thinks that concerned individuals require social and economic policies. He added that there are movements known as AI ethics and a counter voice advocating for a responsible AI.

"In some nations, they are attempting to enact laws stating that if you introduce AI, which results in the loss of a certain number of jobs, you are obligated to train those individuals and find them alternative employment.

Meanwhile, Ceptes founder and CEO Priya Ranjan Panigrahy believe that ChatGPT is a revolutionary technology.

He also agreed that it is a valid concern that AI chatbots will take over human jobs. Panigrahy claims that while it has the potential to boost productivity and efficiency, it also has the potential to eliminate jobs, particularly in low-skilled industries.

"This could seriously affect people and networks, particularly in nations where employer stability and social wellbeing nets are feeble," he noted.

Nevertheless, Panigrahy stated to News18: I think that the perception of AI's impact on job security may be exaggerated. Some jobs are less likely to be automated because they require creativity, emotional intelligence, and human interaction. The arts, education, social services, and healthcare are just a few examples.

He issued a disclaimer, stating, "While it is inevitable that technology will eventually replace some jobs, which is unlikely to happen anytime soon."

He believes that to address concerns about job displacement, it is essential to make investments in education and training programs that assist workers in adapting to the shifting market and guarantee that the benefits of AI are shared fairly.
