Apple has banned at least three apps from its App Store that promised to be able to generate non-consensual nude photographs using AI.
According to 404 Media, Apple took action against these apps when the magazine published links to them and their advertisements.
According to the study, they discovered five such advertisements when perusing Meta's Ad Library, which has an archive of all adverts on the site.
Two of these advertisements were for web-based firms that provided similar services, while three directed customers to Apple App Store apps.
Some of these applications provided face swaps on pornographic photographs, while others were billed as 'undressing' apps that employed AI to remove clothing.
