Shiba Inu Mobile Game Plummets to #72 in App Store

The Shiba Inu collectible card game for mobile, Shiba Eternity, has fallen from #1 to #72 in the Card category of the App Store.

Shiba Eternity launched on October 6th and ranked as the top card game on both the App Store and the top free card game on the Google Play Store.

But now the mobile game has also dropped to rank as the #7 top free card game in Google less than a week after launch.

Shiba Eternity players complain of 'bugs'

User reviews of Shiba Eternity complained of the app 'freezing' during battles.

Others said there was 'lag' and Shiba Eternity suffered from slow gameplay, or that despite unlimited Internet and wifi the game just wouldn't play.

Many reviews complain of a lack of colours, disappointing returns from mystery chests and a lack of ability to target opponents more specifically during battle.

Nevertheless Shiba Eternity maintains a 4.8 star review on the App Store and a 4.6 star review on Google Play Store with over 10,000 downloads. Many 5 star reviews called the Shiba Inu game 'addictive', 'fun' and 'perfect for a few mins break'.

Shiba Inu fans disappointed over low burns from Shiba Eternity

Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama said that burning Shiba Inu was 'low priority' during a Discord discussion with fans.

Kusama said his main goals for Shiba Eternity and the upcoming Shibarium layer-1 blockchain solution were for 'adoption' rather than reducing the SHIB supply.

It comes after Kusama revealed just 5% of Shiba Eternity profits would be used to burn SHIB.

A further 45% of revenue would be used to fund projects starting up on Shibarium while the remaining 50% was a 'trade secret'. When asked about expectations Kusama compared Shiba Eternity with Hearthstone – the latter has over 50 million downloads and 1.87 million reviews.

While Shiba Inu holders have grown to 2.2 million over the past few weeks it has nothing like the following of World of Warcraft, from which Hearthstone was a spin-off.

The low burns from Shiba Eternity coincided with the launch of the EverGrow ecosystem where '100% of profit' is used for buyback and burn. EverGrow launched an NFT marketplace (LunaSky) on September 26th and set the bar high for token burning from ecosystem applications.

An upcoming content subscription app and metaverse gaming arcade will also increase revenue for buyback & burn. EverGrow will be a strong competitor to the ecosystem Shiba Inu is building and the resulting price gains in the last quarter of 2022 will be one to watch.

EverGrow has burned through 5% of circulating supply in the last 12 months from a 2% burn tax, while Shiba Inu has only burned 0.01% in the last 12 months.
