Funding in startups is a well-known thing, but it doesn't stop there. When new programming languages are developed, improving them from the initial stage, it requires financial support on behalf of the developers. Companies like Google, Jet Brains, and IBM are often seen to support and provide funding to programming languages that they find useful for their operations.
