Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has announced its 2025 recruitment for Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentice Trainees under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates with a Degree or Diploma in Engineering in disciplines like Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, or Instrumentation are eligible. Selection will be based on performance in a walk-in interview at various locations in Karnataka. The walk-in Apprenticeship Fair will be held on January 9, 2025, at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur. Rakesh Chaudhary, a 36-year-old diamond broker, was cheated of Rs 6.5 lakhs by a Maharashtra-based company, Vineet Marketing and Technology Pvt Ltd, which he contracted for cryptocurrency trading software. Chaudhary gave the company his MetaMask wallet credentials for a trial, during which he stored 18.52 BNB (Rs 6.5 lakhs) in his wallet. However, when he attempted to access his wallet in March 2024, the cryptocurrency was missing. After contacting the company and receiving no answers, Chaudhary filed a complaint with the national cybercrime helpline, leading to the registration of an FIR by Surat Cybercrime police on January 7, 2025.
