Samsung introduced Galaxy Forever, a flexible ownership program for buyers of its latest foldable smartphones in India. The plan is designed to make the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra easier to purchase by combining monthly payments, device protection, and an assured buyback option.

Under the program, customers can purchase either foldable through a 24-month no-cost EMI plan. Samsung is also including Samsung Care+ protection, which covers accidental and liquid damage without a separate purchase of the protection plan.

The biggest attraction is the assured buyback facility. Customers can return their phone from the 10th month onwards, with the value depending on when they choose to upgrade.

Galaxy Forever: How the Buyback Works

The assured buyback value starts at 55% of the phone's invoice value if the device is returned between the 10th and 11th months. The percentage gradually falls as the ownership period increases.

This structure gives customers an option to upgrade without keeping the foldable for the full financing period.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra Program Prices

Samsung set different monthly payments for the two devices. The starting prices apply to the base configurations with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

What the Fold 8 Ultra Offers

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is Samsung's premium foldable, featuring an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The Ultra also has a 5,000mAh battery and a triple rear-camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The standard Fold 8 has a 4,800mAh battery and offers up to 1TB storage.

Is Galaxy Forever Worth Considering?

Galaxy Forever changes the way customers can approach Samsung's expensive foldables. Instead of paying the entire price upfront and later finding a buyer for the phone, customers get a defined exit route through Samsung's buyback program.

However, buyers should compare the program fee, EMI commitment and eventual buyback value before choosing the plan. The buyback percentage also falls over time, meaning customers planning to keep their phone for several years may find the programme less attractive than those who upgrade frequently.

For users who want Samsung's latest foldable and prefer upgrading every year or two, Galaxy Forever could provide a more predictable ownership model.
