Tech Giants have Robust Hiring Plans for the Post-Pandemic World

Infosys, Wipro, and others are planning to hire more people in the coming years

On May 4th, Infosys announced that it is planning to hire 1,000 workers in the next three years to support the UK economy post the pandemic. These fresh hires would be working in the innovative digital space with disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics. The employees will also be provided with critical training and mentoring. Infosys said that it will mostly hire fresh graduates from different universities in the UK and the new recruits will be working in Infosys' design studio in Shoreditch, an innovation center in Canary Wharf, proximity centers in Nottingham, and other client locations across the country.

Infosys is globally recognized as a top employer and this initiative will enable to bridge the gap that occurred in recent digital transformations across different industries. Apart from freshers, the company also plans to hire experienced tech professionals to aid and enhance its digital journey.

However, this is not the first-ever hiring announcement that came forward this year. Tech giants are keen on recruiting new graduates and fuelling the digital transformation post-pandemic. Other companies include TCS, Wipro, and HCL. TCS  declared its plans to expand its presence in Montreal by hiring more than 100 employees with immediate effect and over 500 employees in the coming three years. The IT consulting firm has decided to launch an IT service center in Montreal with solutions around modern technologies like AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, and cloud computing, to enhance the growth of digital transformation in Canada.

Wipro is another tech company that has shared its desire to hire a bunch of freshers recently. The company has launched Elite National Talent Hunt 2021 (NTH), an initiative to hire freshers and the best engineering talents from across India. According to TNIE reports, Wipro recruited almost 14, 826 employees in the financial year 2020-21. In an interview with Livemint, Saurabh Govil, Chief HR officer at Wipro declared the robust plans of hiring both freshers and laterals in the second and third quarter of the financial year 2021-22.

Along with these companies, HCL also has plans to hire 20,000 freshers in this financial year. According to a Livemint report, HCL, in its recent investment presentations states that it will onboard more than 15,000 entry-level employees globally in India, the US, Europe, Australia, Srilanka, and Vietnam. More tech companies can be anticipated to expand their onboarding process in the coming years considering the need for rampant digital transformation and skilled talents.
