Gaming Goes Hollywood: Upcoming Video Game Movies and TV Shows

The Legend of Zelda Movie: Nintendo is taking one of its biggest franchises to live action with The Legend of Zelda movie. The film is directed by Wes Ball and stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda. It is scheduled for April 30, 2027, making it one of gaming's biggest upcoming adaptations.

Resident Evil Movie: A new Resident Evil movie is heading to cinemas in 2026, giving the survival horror series another chance on the big screen. Directed by Zach Cregger, the film is expected to take the franchise in a fresh direction. It is currently scheduled for September 18, 2026, adding another major horror release to the gaming adaptation lineup.

Street Fighter Movie: Street Fighter is also returning to the big screen, with a new movie planned for October 16, 2026.
