Xbox is turning 25 on November 15, 2026, and Microsoft started the party early. It’s been more than two decades since the platform entered the gaming universe and presented players with franchises like Halo, Forza, and Gears of War. Later, the arrival of Game Pass changed the concept of playing games. Therefore, despite recent internal crises, the anniversary celebration is going to be grand on Microsoft’s side.
The company planned to offer gamers multiple exciting freebies, including an anniversary badge, gamerpics, backgrounds, and themes. The method of acquiring the badge is straightforward. Players need to sign in to their accounts on a console, PC, or the Xbox mobile app to receive it. There’s no extra step to get the badge. Once players receive it, the badge will be visible on their profile.
However, there’s no need to rush; Xbox planned a prolonged celebration. According to the announcement, it will be available until the end of 2026.
There is more for fans to grab. Xbox added new anniversary gamerpics, backgrounds, and dynamic themes for its consoles and PC app. Game Pass is also joining the celebration with special game collections that cover different Xbox eras. Games such as Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Fable and Psychonauts 2 are part of the spotlight.
Further, Microsoft is making Xbox Fan Fest global across multiple cities. The journey will begin at Gamescom in Cologne on August 26, followed by events at Tokyo Game Show on September 17 and London Fan Fest on September 26. Additionally, players can join Mexico City and Sydney FanFest events on October 17. As of now, the final one is planned for Toronto on November 6.
