Vivo is ready to launch OriginOS 7 on September 16 in China. The original aim is to launch the OS during the Vivo Developer Conference, but the company has already started teasing it. Tech enthusiasts have already received hints regarding new features, including a major visual interface overhaul along with performance, multitasking, and storage features.
OriginOS 7 will be based on Android 17 and is set to bring a fresh look to Vivo phones. It is expected to introduce a transparent glass interface, along with new liquid animations, advanced lock-screen personalization options, and a global sticker repository. Vivo has claimed that it will offer around 20GB of storage space in a 256GB storage device.
The new version will add Liquid Themes, Flash Card Themes and system-wide stickers. Vivo says apps could open up to 12% faster, while page transitions may be 19% more responsive. Virtual GPU 4.0 is also claimed to improve rendering speed by 14% over OriginOS 6.
The Vivo smartphone interface gets the biggest makeover in OriginOS 7. The UI will have more transparent elements, light effects, and moving animations. Liquid Themes will also let users give their lock screen a more lively look. OriginOS 6 had a simpler design compared to this new approach.
Performance is another key area. Vivo says the new software can open apps faster and make page changes feel quicker. Virtual GPU 4.0 should also improve graphics performance. Storage Compression 2.0 is designed to reduce the space used by system data.
OriginOS 7 looks like more than a simple visual update. Vivo is combining a new design with speed, multitasking, and storage improvements. More details about supported phones and the rollout are expected at the September 16 launch.
