Samsung Electronics raised the bar for gaming monitors with its new Odyssey lineup. Recently, the company unveiled four new gaming monitors at Gamescom 2026. The biggest highlight among the three was the Odyssey G9, which features a 49-inch Dual QHD (DQHD) OLED display with a 360Hz refresh rate. Next comes the Odyssey OLED G8. This is another monitor with a 32-inch UHD display and a 360Hz refresh rate. Players can switch between UHD at 360 Hz, QHD at 520 Hz, and FHD at 680 Hz, according to their requirements.
Additionally, Samsung Electronics unveiled the Odyssey OLED G7 as the world's first 42-inch, 16:9-aspect-ratio curved OLED gaming monitor. Finally, the Odyssey OLED G6 is the smallest gaming monitor Samsung has ever released. It has a 27-inch QHD resolution display with a 1,100Hz screen refresh rate.
The new monitors focus on fast play, clear visuals, and features made for modern PC gaming. However, the exact release date for these monitors hasn’t been announced yet, nor has their price.
For competitive FPS games, the Odyssey G6 is the clear standout. Its 1,100Hz refresh rate targets players who care about every small movement on screen. However, such high refresh rates are most useful when a gaming PC can produce extremely high frame rates.
The other models are better suited to players who want a mix of speed and picture quality. The G9 offers a large, wide screen, while the G8 focuses more on sharp visuals and a premium viewing experience. The G7 sits between the two, offering strong gaming performance without going all-in on extreme refresh rates.
Samsung’s new range shows how far gaming displays are moving. The 1,100Hz G6 may appeal mainly to serious competitive players, while the other models offer more balanced choices.
