Samsung has officially confirmed the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, ending months of speculation surrounding its upcoming foldable smartphone lineup. The South Korean tech giant is expected to unveil a refreshed portfolio of foldables, smartwatches, and possibly its long-rumored Android XR glasses.
Samsung said the "next generation of Galaxy devices are set to deliver more personal and adaptive experiences and set a new standard for the AI era," hinting at a stronger focus on artificial intelligence across its ecosystem.
Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for July 22 at 9:00 AM EDT, which translates to 6:30 PM IST for viewers in India. The event will be livestreamed through Samsung Newsroom, Samsung.com, and the company's official YouTube channel.
Samsung is widely expected to refresh its foldable smartphone lineup with three new devices instead of the usual two. Reports suggest the company could introduce:
Galaxy Z Fold 8
Galaxy Z Flip 8
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
If the rumors are true, then it will be the first time that the company releases a foldable Ultra model alongside its regular versions. Samsung’s upcoming Z Fold 8 is said to have a larger and passport-style design, providing a traditional smartphone experience.
On the other hand, Samsung’s Z Fold 8 Ultra is predicted to be the company’s new premium book-style foldable model. It caters to users looking for flagship-level specs and productivity features. Additionally, Samsung’s Z Flip 8 is set to undergo an annual update from the company.
Samsung’s upcoming product range may go beyond smartphones as the introduction of the Galaxy Watch 9 Series is just around the corner.
While no information about the upcoming devices has been made public yet, one can expect some minor hardware changes along with more sophisticated health and fitness features powered by AI. This event can be a good opportunity for Samsung to introduce something new into its Galaxy lineup.
A third possible product to steal the limelight would be the rumored Android XR glasses. The XR gadget would be one more step in Samsung's move towards augmented reality technology.
