Roblox says its daily active users in India grew at a compound annual rate of 76% between 2020 and 2025. The company shared the figure at its UNBOX ROBLOX event in New Delhi. It also released an Economic Impact report prepared by Access Partnership.
Roblox said the user base now reaches millions of people, but it did not give an exact count. The event shows how much the platform wants to focus on Indian players and creators. Roblox is also preparing to launch a “Build in India” program to support local game developers.
The number of Indian creators eligible for payouts grew 96% a year over the same period and passed 250 in 2025. Total payouts rose 72% a year. A survey of 204 Indian creators found that players outside India make up 52% of daily users on their games.
These players also bring in 55% of the creators’ revenue. Among surveyed creators, 92% said Roblox helped their games reach international users.
Sunil Rao, Managing Director of Roblox India and South Asia, said, ‘The next big hit on Roblox could come from India.’ He added that daily active users grew 64% year over year in the quarter that ended June 30, 2026. Surveyed creators who publish on several platforms get 61% of their creation revenue from Roblox.
Phones remain the main way Indians play, with 88% of surveyed users joining Roblox on mobile. The platform now supports Hindi, and more languages are on the way.
The report estimates that creator activity added Rs. 123.9 crore to India’s GDP between 2020 and 2025. It also supported about 510 full-time-equivalent jobs in 2025. The yearly GDP contribution and job count were lower than their 2024 levels.
