Red Dead Redemption 2 has no intention of slowing down. Even after seven years of its initial global launch, the Rockstar action-adventure title continues to produce surprises. This time, the attention is not on a new update from Rockstar Games but on a fan-made mod that turns Jack Marshton into a sled dog.

This is not the first time a modder has done this to Jack. Previously, the little boy was replaced with tomahawks. Instead of watching a blade spin through the air, players saw Jack flying toward targets. Again, Blurbs did similar experiments, and the result became as strange as it sounds.

Modder’s Jack Marston Weapon Leaves Players Amused

The development comes from the long-running Red Dead Redemption 2 modding scene. The RDR2 modding community is one of the biggest and weirdest ones. Modders often run experiments that community players enjoy but sometimes criticize.

The story began when, during a livestream, Blurbs was struck while he was attaching animals to the boat to pull it forward. The streamer asked his chat which is the fastest animal to pull the boat, and the answer was human. Someone mentioned Jack Marshton. Initially, the streamer laughed, but he tried the idea, and as a result, the mod was created so players can see that Jack has been pulling the boat Arthur sat in.

The mod does not try to improve gameplay or add new missions. Its only goal is to make players laugh. The reaction has mostly been positive. Fans seem to enjoy that Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to inspire creative projects long after its release.

Why Meme Mods are  Taking Over PC Gaming

Funny mods have become a major part of PC gaming culture. Years ago, most mods focused on bug fixes, graphics upgrades, or new content. Today, many are designed to create a funny clip that can spread online within hours.

Games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Skyrim, and Grand Theft Auto V have become popular playgrounds for this trend. A strange idea can often attract more attention than a serious gameplay overhaul. Social media has also helped these projects grow. Short videos and screenshots can turn a small mod into a viral topic almost overnight.

Bizarre Mods May Help Keep Old Games Alive

Meme mods are in trend, but not every player likes them. However, these are one of the most potent ways for older games to stay relevant after years of release. They give fans fresh reasons to revisit familiar places and create new little moments to share with others.

Even if these creations have little to do with the original story or tone, they still keep the community active, long after their release. In that sense, a dozen Jack Marston pulling a boat is doing what successful mods usually do, reminding players why they still care about Red Dead Redemption 2.
