Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sweden has outlined clear results in employment, AI, and trade relationships. The visit renewed the India-Sweden partnership and opened doors for future growth.

The visit included an important meeting in Gothenburg. Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen joined the event. Business leaders also took part in talks that focused on goals like better trade, new job opportunities, and stronger AI collaboration.

India and Sweden Strengthen Partnership

The biggest outcome of PM Modi’s visit to Sweden came from stronger ties between the two countries. India and Sweden agreed to become strategic partners. They also set a Joint Action Plan for 2026 to 2030. This plan will guide work in trade, security, technology, and people exchange.

India and Sweden also initiated the Joint Innovation Partnership 2.0, prompting both sides to work together in research and new ideas. A virtual science and technology centre that focuses on AI collaboration, space, 6G, and health research will support this effort.

Focus on AI and Trade Growth

Another important outcome came with the India-Sweden Technology and Artificial Intelligence Corridor. This plan will connect companies, startups, and researchers and help them build new technology and support digital growth. It will also make it easier for startups to work together.

Trade was also a major focus. Both countries agreed to double bilateral trade in the next five years. This will help businesses grow and bring more investment. It will also support India’s goal to become a strong manufacturing hub.

Jobs and Cultural Cooperation

Job opportunities were a key part of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Sweden. Both countries will build a platform for small businesses and startups to support jobs and help youth find work in areas like AI, green energy, and technology.

The visit also included a cultural step. The Tagore Sweden Lecture Series will start soon, helping people from both countries learn more about each other.

PM Modi said the visit will bring new energy to the India-Sweden partnership. The focus on jobs, AI collaboration, and bilateral trade shows a clear plan for the future. The visit builds a strong base for long-term ties between India and Europe.
