PlayStation fans have a new date to get excited about. It’s State of Play time again, where PlayStation 5 players will get glimpses of the games they will receive throughout the year on the console. Generally, the September State of Play event brings the most exciting announcements, and this year, Sony confirmed it will take place on September 3. The show starts at 6:00 am PT, 8:00 am CT, 9:00 am ET and 3:00 pm CEST. In India, it will begin at 6:30 pm IST. Fans can watch the event live on YouTube and Twitch. A separate State of Play Japan show will follow.
Sony confirmed that the showcase will include updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party developers. Players are already speculating on the games that would be there at the event. The first name that almost every PS5 player wants to be showcased is Final Fantasy VII Revelation. However, Sony has not revealed the full list of games yet.
One game that could grab most of the attention is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Naughty Dog shared very little about the game since its reveal. A new trailer or gameplay clip could finally give fans a better look at its world and story.
The project is also a big change for the studio. Unlike The Last of Us and Uncharted, Intergalactic takes players into a science-fiction setting. A fresh look could quickly become the biggest moment of the show, although Naughty Dog’s appearance is yet to be confirmed.
The September State of Play could give PS5 owners a better idea of what is coming next. Final Fantasy VII Revelation already has a confirmed segment, while the rest of the lineup remains under wraps.
With Sony keeping several details quiet, the real excitement may come from the games nobody sees coming. For PlayStation fans, September 3 could bring some major surprises.
