Panasonic has expanded its renowned LUMIX camera series with two exciting new models: The Travel Zoom ZS99 and the Micro Four Thirds G97. Planned to go live in early 2025, these cameras will cater to the needs of both professional photographers and videographers, providing advanced features for various styles of imagery.
The G97 and ZS99 are excellent and well constructed cameras regardless of whether you want to shoot detailed landscapes, action shots, or even cinematic videos.
The LUMIX G97 is a compact and efficient hybrid perfect for photographers and videographers who aim higher. The device combines a 20.3MP CMOS sensor with an impressive image processor, making the image reproduction bright and detailed.
The LUMIX Photo Style feature lets users control with colors, and the Live View Composite allows users to merge multiple exposures to generate dynamic scenes without overexposing backgrounds. The camera's dual image stabilization technology keeps images clear even in difficult conditions, and the free-angle LCD and OLED viewfinder ensure that images and subjects are framed and focused exactly.
However, the LUMIX ZS99 has been built with a small yet durable body and enhanced 30x optical zoom for travel enthusiasts, thus enabling them to photograph distant objects keenly. This model has a 4K video capability and High-Definition Video Speed, which is especially relevant to travelers. Its built-in 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ stabilizes the captured images and videos when shooting in the field or moving. Further, the ZS99 introduces easy-to-use connection modes such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, making sharing images across devices easy.
The LUMIX ZS99 will be launched in mid-February 2025 in black and silver and will be priced at $499.99. Its integrated technology, including USB Type-C charging and a tiltable touch screen, can compete with premium models and accommodate modern travelers and lifestyle bloggers.
The G97 is to be released soon. Its availability is planned for late February 2025, and its base configuration will cost $849.99 with a 12-60mm lens. This model improves on the G90 and G95 models by featuring a high-resolution LCD and USB-C charging capability. Improved functions such as a new send image button and improved video features demonstrate Panasonic’s understanding of consumers’ shift in needs in digital imaging.
