Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will visit the United Arab Emirates for a three-day investment outreach covering Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The visit marks his second international investment roadshow and aims to attract global capital to Odisha.
Majhi will meet UAE government officials, sovereign investment funds, institutional investors and business leaders. The Odisha government will also present the state's industrial policies, available infrastructure and investment opportunities to companies operating in the Gulf region.
The chief minister's UAE program will begin in Abu Dhabi, where he will meet major investment institutions and government representatives. His schedule includes a roundtable with International Holding Company, or IHC, an Abu Dhabi-based investment group.
Majhi is also expected to meet UAE Minister of Investment Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi and representatives of sovereign investment funds. The Odisha delegation will also sign Memoranda of Cooperation during the visit as part of efforts to build business links with UAE-based institutions.
Before starting the international trip, Majhi said Odisha wants to strengthen its position among investors looking at India.
“Our vision is clear: to make Odisha the first choice for investors seeking opportunity, stability and sustainable growth,” Majhi said.
He added that the state would use the UAE visit to expand engagement with international investors and business leaders.
After completing the Abu Dhabi program, Majhi will travel to Dubai for direct meetings with company executives and prospective investors. These discussions will focus on potential investment projects and industrial partnerships involving Odisha.
The chief minister will also attend the Odisha Investors' Meet in Dubai on September 11. The event will bring together investors, business representatives and officials to discuss opportunities across sectors in the state.
In addition, Majhi will interact with members of the Odia diaspora in the UAE. The program forms part of the state government's wider effort to maintain links with overseas Odia communities while expanding its international business outreach.
During the meetings, the Odisha government will present the state's investment-ready projects, industrial infrastructure and policy support available to companies. Officials will also discuss emerging sectors where the state is seeking domestic and foreign investment.
Majhi said Odisha has been working on ease of doing business, faster project execution and investor support.
“With a strong focus on EoDB, investor confidence, enabling policies and faster project execution, we are creating an ecosystem where businesses can invest, grow and thrive,” he said.
The state government expects the UAE meetings to open more discussions with companies and investment institutions interested in India. Officials will also explore opportunities to increase trade and industrial cooperation between Odisha and the UAE.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg and other senior officials are part of the Odisha government delegation. They will join the chief minister during meetings with investors and government representatives.
The UAE outreach is scheduled to conclude on September 12. Majhi will return after completing meetings in Abu Dhabi and Dubai as Odisha continues its efforts to attract overseas investment and expand business ties with international investors.
