LinkedIn is adding new tools to help professionals make money from their skills. These tools will help professionals to continue their side hustles, vibe-coding projects, and other freelance activities that don’t match their job profile. One key feature is Advice Sessions. This one will allow eligible users to offer one-on-one calls and consultations through the platform and charge for their time.

This feature helps them manage appointments, accept payments, and hold video calls. For now, it will roll out to selected Business Premium users in the US. LinkedIn says it will not take a share of the money they earn. The company is also adding a creator dashboard and plans to expand video ad earnings for eligible creators.

LinkedIn is also making it easier for people to build work connections. Currently, the platform is testing a Network feed that shows posts from people who the profile users know and accounts they follow. Another new feature is a digital business card that users can personalize and save to their phone’s digital wallet. LinkedIn says these changes aim to support people who run their own businesses or take on more than one role. The company reported a 70% rise in users adding ‘founder’ to their profiles over the past year.

Regarding the rapid integration of AI tools into the platform, the Chief Product Officer of LinkedIn, Hari Srinivasan, mentioned, “You can build all this incredible stuff with AI, but I don't know if it's necessarily made it easier to build a business.”

Digital Business Cards Could Make Networking Easier

Users can add their details to a LinkedIn business card, change its look, and save it to a mobile wallet. This could be useful at conferences, job fairs, business meetings, and networking events. People can share their details more easily and connect after meeting in person. LinkedIn plans to roll out the feature worldwide over the coming months.

These updates show that LinkedIn wants to offer more than online networking. The company is giving professionals new ways to earn from their skills, meet people, and grow their careers.
